A day of clinics.

A few weeks back, my husband Roelof was on the Honda-website. He told me that they had clinics "safety & fun" again on June 10 on the paddock of the TT-track. Was I interested? Sure...........

Registration.
The form was downloaded, the registration of the bike was copied by my son and the papers were sent to Honda. Last week the confirmation dropped on the doormat. Place to be: the paddock of the TT-track in Assen. So on sathurdaymorning at 8 I left the house, fuelled up and drove to Drenthe. Coming forward could be done between 9 and 10 at the info stand on the paddock. Clinics started at 10.

Unfaithful to the Deauville.
It looks like it is going to be a day with tropical temperatures and so it does. In the afternoon, during the clinic: "using the brakes with ABS", my shoulders get seriously sunburnt. Only half an hour unprotected in the sun. We were allowed to ride on a Honda CBF 600 with the ABS. Needed to get used to for a while. Feels like riding a moped, but you really have an adult bike underneath your "dot, dot, dot". The first 2 attempts I didn't sqeeze hard enough, but with the third attempt, I squeezed all I could. With that ABS hitting in, you can stop in almost 5 metres when driving just over 30 mph. That was cool! Thought I was going to be launched for a moment.

Demonstration.
Had a look at the demonstration of the "Pan-team". Looks good. Those guys really know how to handle their bikes.(see picture) Made quite an impression on me. The closure of the day with the barbeque is always great. A Honda-day is always good regarding to the catering. In the morning coffee is ready. At lunchtime there are rolls and bread and soup and in the late afternoon there is a barbeque with everything you could wish for. Maybe not a bad idea, to check the side of your brand of bike. Maybe they organise something like that.
