Long weekend in Waxweiler.

Bikerclub MCV, with its base in Veenwouden (Friesland) organises a campingweekend for its members every year. One year in the Netherlands and the other year abroad. The club owns its own big armytent and a horsetrailer. In there all the participating members put their luggage as well. All what is needed is a good strong car to pull this trailer. One of the members has such a car, but he wants his bike to come as well.

Promise...
In the back of my head I can still hear Roel (my husband) say that our trailer can easily carry 2 bikes. And so I offer to take his bike and mine on our trailer, when we go to the weekend abroad. He has a Pan European 1100ST. On arrival home, I tell Roel about my offer. He starts measuring, as he owns a Pan as well. Guess what, it doesn't fit. While on the way, the bikes would touch each other, so there would be damage. But I intend to keep my word. I go by car with just the "Pan" on the trailer. I'll have to be the pillion of Roel for the weekend.

Look on the bright side.
I am a person that likes to look for the positive side of things. This will give me an opportunity to make pictures of the nicest places under way. What I noticed on my tours is, that when I see something of interest, there is never a place to stop in order to make pictures. So I leave on thursdaymorning at 5 AM and with a speed of 55 mph, south-bound. I stay behind a truck. He does 55, trucks are not alowed to overtake and then it is mean to drive just 50. I go with the flow. At mid-day I have arrived on the camping in Waxweiler (Germany).

Lovely corners.
On the friday everybody is free to do what he/she wants to do. We decide to make a tour and there are 2 more bikers to join in. Even though it is clowdy, it stays dry all day. On saturday there is a tour planned to Vianden (Luxemburg). We leave with the entire group. At a reasonable time were back on the camping and we decide (being here anyway) to enjou some more nice corners. One of the men feels the same way and we go with 3 persons on 2 bikes on the way. The next morning we have to pack up and go homeward again. But we have memories of a lovely scenery with dry weather. We really needed that.
