Therapy...

I've not been out on the bike for four weeks and when bad news strikes us, there is only one way to straighten my mind again...

Picking up the bike...
Two weeks ago I went to have a look at a motorbike that my brother had seen on the internet. Indeed it was a beauty and the engine runs smooth as well, so the deal is done. It is just that since he is alone with his kids, he can't come to collect the bike earlier then december 8. And so we leave with my brothers son in the back seat to Almere Stad. When the final things are done, the bike is put on the bike-trailer and then we leave for home. There the bike is taken from the trailer and I return home with our trailer.

Bad news...
I am just home when my father calls, his mum has passed away at the age of 104 years old. First I call Roel and the kids to tell them. We intended to celebrate Hendrik his birthday tonight, so my house is crowded. Hendrik his girlfriend had offered to cook for us today and so I can withdraw myself to let the news sink in. I don't really feel at ease and the others go watch a movie in the livingroom. Gives me the opportunity to be alone in between servings.

Sunday...
When in the morning the sun is shining I only have one thought: To take the "blue" one out for a ride. It is a thornn in my fleah that she is still standing in the garage with an empty fueltank. It should be filled before the winter. After my lunch I leave in a southern direction. At Garijperhoek I turn into the direction of Sumar. It is a nice winding road to Eastermar. But the low sun doesn't give me a clear sight and so I ahve to drive careful. Then I drive via Rottevalle and take a B-road. On the roundabout I choose for Wytfean, I miss an exit and end up at the bridge near Kootstertille. Here they have put in new pavement and I drive carefullywith all the sand on the road. I detest it.

Could not hold back...
Then I drive homeward, but first I go by the servicestation to fuel up the tank. It really is far too early to go home again and so I drive into the direction of Dokkum and then the road to the pier. I come to talk with another biker, but we feel some drizzle. Time to go home. Near Holwerd I choose the diorection of Leeuwarden. Near FErwerd I go passed the highest mound of Friesland, near Hogebeintum and then via Burdaard I come to the B-road and turn right. Straight on is a 40 mile zone. Near Quatrebras I see it is only 6 degrees. Today I drove about 100 kms and I can handle things again in the coming week.
