The new year has started well. During the day I give all of my belongings a place and in the evening I work on my red/white patchwork project. I have to do everything by hand as my sewing machine has broken down. I found out when I was on Kos. On January 12 I have almost unpacked all my stuff and repacked some stuff as I don't have a place for that in my small living-room. Only the most important stuff will be in my room. I have my own place now. Now and then friends drop by for coffee and we make it cozy. I can build my new life now. I'm already looking forward to the new season.

Rumour has, that some hotels open their doors one month earlier than last year. That sounds promising. I am very confident, that it will be a good season again. On January 6 I have been on a shopping spree and found a nice wardrobe. On sunday January 10 I visit the harbour and Yasin invites me to stay on board during the boat-tour which he is about to make. I could sure use some wind in my hair. The sea is very smooth today.

During the night the wind is getting stronger and when I take a collegue to the airport in Antalya I see the hight waves. They must be around 3 metres high. No boattours today. All boxes are unpacked now and the stuff I don't have a place for now, is take to the second bedroom. I will check it again later. All I really need is a table and some chairs and a few bookshelves or cupboards. On January 23 winter in Holland seems to be over and I go to a travel agency to find out if I can get a reasonable-priced ticket to Holland to visit the family. I get a ticket for a good price and I will leave on January 27 and return to Alanya on February 27.

I had just srrived in Holland, when I got the message that my parcel, Hanneke had sent me, had finally arrived. It had been on it's way for 10 weeks. Then I arrive back in Alanya. A month passes with visiting friends, drink endlessly tea and enjoy the afternoon sunshine. In the mean time, my patchwork-projects progess in the evenings. On March 28, we have our first tour. Immediatly followed by March 30 and April 1. Then we skip April 4, but continue on April 8 and 11. The Season has started!
